Automated pipe organs in 21st century music! New works and never before heard sounds by Ellen Arkbro, Mark Fell, gamut inc, Adi Gelbart, Jasmine Guffond, Hampus Lindwall and Santi Vilanova.

The international concert series AGGREGATE with a yearly climax at the AGGREGATE Festival exposes the potential for artistic innovation in organ music. Composers with differing musical backgrounds have created new pieces: Contemporary electronics, Neue Musik, avant-garde pop and noise music interweave with one another. The works presented at this year’s festival will be composed exclusively for the special place and organ of the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche. All of the instrument’s parameters can be controlled by computer via interfaces, while the sound is still created in the pipes of the organ. In this way, a largely untapped meshing of instrumental and electronic music can be achieved.
