FOOTNOTES (Crippled Symmetry)
do 22 feb - za 2 jun
Frascati theater, Amsterdam //22-24 februari première. Daarna op tournee.
Based on the unique music piece Crippled Symmetry (1984) by Morton Feldman, choreographer Keren Levi creates a subtle shifting interplay of movement, sound and space. Three female dancers sketch rhythmic patterns through the performance space that is intersected by a sculptural installation of walls by visual artist Krijn de Koning and surrounded by a sound work by Tom Parkinson. The underlying principle is asymmetry. In FOOTNOTES (for Crippled Symmetry) the performance develops a fragile balance that tilts continuously. Slowing down with time it absorbs attention and proposes imperfection and human fallibility.
